Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker (1982)

This is one of the rare horror movies I watch and feel the immediate need to write a review. This is a very shocking and unpredictable movie. It immediately goes off a cliff in one of the most unexpectedly brutal opening scenes I have ever watched. It stars Susan Tyrrell as a possessive aunt who is watching Jimmy McNichol as Billy whose parents died horrifically in the opening scene. It was really something to watch. It gets complicated when a T.V. repair guy gets killed. That's when Bo Svenson shows up as detective Joe Carlson or the worst cop ever, to offend and "investigate" everything. This film is a lot of homophobia and weird sexual tension. Susan Tyrrell is what makes this movie worth watching, she carries Bo Svenson and the rest of the cast making them all look like amateurs in comparison. As the film progresses the tension ramps up to a crescendo of crazy. This is a 5 out of 10 that is absolutely worth a watch. It's strange but in a way that keeps you engaged. I would recommend this to anyone who can ignore the offensive language, bad acting and lacking dialog.
