The Lair of the White Worm (1988)

The Lair of the White Worm is a brilliant horror comedy that should be seen by all. What feels like it should be a vampire movie takes directions that create a very unique story. It starts a little slow with the discovery of a mysterious skull that looks like it might be from the local legend. An annoyingly pretentious Hugh Grant throws a party for his families role in the legend. This all leads to a seductive woman who is tied to some disappearances in the area, and whose ancestors had a dark history with the scull. This movie is terrifying, funny, sexual, and original. Amanda Donohoe plays the sexy villain, she is great in this role. Peter Capaldi, Catherine Oxenberg, Sammi Davis, and Hugh Grant fill most of the rest of the remaining cast. I have to mention the highly effective acid trip scenes that will horrify you by themselves. I loved the story and how well it was told. It has some good effects and the make up is impressive. I give this movie a 8.5 out of 10, I would recommend it to fellow horror enthusiasts. I love the blend of humor and twisted horror.
